The public institution is working on a multiyear plan to shave $25 million in expenses while reinvesting some of those savings back into the university.
The Ohio institution helped launch the Coalition for the Common Good, which it says is now trying to dissolve its board, seize its funds and fire its president.
The public institution’s facilities are in good shape, but it has a long to-do list of pending projects, and aging infrastructure has prompted unexpected repairs.
“In the United States, freedom of speech belongs to the people,” U.S. District Judge Noël Wise said in her decision. “It is not the government’s to take.”
